May 2nd Meeting: “The Story of Silver Lake Institute”
The May 2nd meeting of the Honeoye Falls – Town of Mendon Historical Society will feature Sharon Pratt, Summer Resident of Silver Lake Institute.
The topic of Sharon’s talk will be “The Story of Silver Lake Institute.”
Sharon will tell the story, and show pictures, of an area on Silver Lake that began as a Methodist Camp in 1873, and take you through 150 years of change to 2023. You may read more about the Silver Lake Institute at https://silverlakeinstitute.org/.
Sharon Pratt is a long time Silver Lake Institute summer resident. She grew up in nearby Perry, NY and nearby Silver Lake has always been part of her life. Her husband and she bought a cottage on the Institute a number of years ago, and as they became part of the community, she found it to have an interesting history, and has enjoyed sharing it with others.
The meeting will begin at 7:30pm on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Mendon Community Center, 167 North Main Street in Honeoye Falls. This facility is handicapped accessible. The meeting is open to the public.
