“Our Latest Book: Mendon Ponds Park: Fairchild’s Dream” with Diane Ham & Jack Butler (5/1/25)
The May 1st meeting of the Honeoye Falls – Town of Mendon Historical Society will feature Diane Ham and Jack Butler. They will talk about how their book came to be through a slide presentation of park photos including aerial views. (Books will be available for purchase for $25.)
Diane Ham has been the Town of Mendon Historian for forty-five years and is also now the Honeoye Falls Village Historian.
Jack Butler, a Pittsford resident, has been leading Fairchild Walking Tours of Mendon Ponds Park since 2021.
Together, the authors combined their knowledge and experience to write a comprehensive account of Mendon Ponds Park history, glacial geology, flora and fauna, former residents, and unusual features.
Their objective for Mendon Ponds Park:
Fairchild’s Dream is to inform, educate, and entertain readers while collecting and preserving facts and data that have never been consolidated into one volume before.
The meeting will begin at 7:30pm on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Mendon Community Center, 167 North Main Street in Honeoye Falls. This facility is handicapped accessible. The meeting is open to the public.
