The May 1st meeting of the Honeoye Falls – Town of Mendon Historical Society will feature Jack Butler. He will talk about how the book he co-authored with Town Historian Diane Ham came to be, through a slide presentation of park photos including aerial views. (Books will be available for purchase for $25.)

Jack Butler, a Pittsford resident, has been leading Fairchild Walking Tours of Mendon Ponds Park since 2021. Together, Diane and Jack combined their knowledge and experience to write a comprehensive account of Mendon Ponds Park history, glacial geology, flora and fauna, former residents, and unusual features.

The objective for Mendon Ponds Park: Fairchild’s Dream is to inform, educate, and entertain readers while collecting and preserving facts and data that have never been consolidated into one volume before.

The meeting will begin at 7:30pm on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Bleak House Books, 5 West Main Street in Honeoye Falls. The meeting is open to the public. There is parking both on Main Street and the back of the bookstore.
