March 7, 2024 Meeting: George Eastman’s Gardens, Then and Now

The March 7th meeting of the Honeoye Falls – Town of Mendon Historical Society will feature Dan Bellavia, Landscape Manager for The George Eastman Museum, whose topic will be “George Eastman’s Gardens, Then and Now.”

This program will cover the building of George Eastman’s gardens (1901) to the present. See the original gardens as they looked during Eastman’s lifetime to the beginning of the Museum (1948) through the complete rehabilitation in 1990 back to the original design.

Dan has an A.A.S in Ornamental Horticulture and a B.S. Biology. He started as a summer intern for the Eastman Museum in 2005 then was promoted to Head Gardener in 2007. Dan took over all duties of the Landscape Curator in 2016.

The meeting will begin at 7:30pm. Again, it will be a Zoom presentation. Please join us from wherever you may be this winter!!
